A new book on Crude Oil Fouling, Deposit Characterization, Measurements, and Modeling edited by Dr. Coletti and Prof. Hewitt of Hexxcell Ltd. and published by Elsevier is now available here.

Crude oil fouling, an important problem in oil refineries that directly affects its energy efficiency resulting in increased costs (estimated in several million dollars per year in each refinery), production losses, significant operational and safety problems and additional CO2 emissions (estimated in 2.5% of all man-made CO2 emissions). To have a chance to mitigate or solve this problem for the oil industry, it is widely acknowledged by both academia and industry, that a deeper understanding of the fundamental mechanisms of fouling occurring in crude oil systems is needed. This book addresses exactly this need as it reports fundamental scientific work performed at several scales of investigation (from micro to refinery scale), both experimental and modeling perspective.
